Well, I just came off my first micro cycle of training and was very nice to have week 5 50% week. I am training for the Joe Dupe Classic my first weightlifting meet. I have been using the O-lifts as they are sometimes called about 18 mos. I felt it important to attempt to master these lifts before I try to coach them to young athletes. So here I am 33 yrs. old, I will be 34 competition time, training for the Dupe. All has been going very well but I still have a long way to go to meet my goals. I will compete at
70 Kilos. probably. My best snatch to date is 75K, clean 115K, jerk 100K. I have had some neck and rhomboid injuries so the jerk has suffered. I hope to snatch 85K, clean&jerk 120K. The meet is in Jacksonville, fl. Oct. 20 and 21. Not much time. Prayers are welcome. My ultimate goal is to make all my lifts, be consistant with good technique. Anyone out there with pointers, come one, come all.
Here is Day 1 Week 6
-Snatch combo Power Snatch-Mid catch-Full 6 sets 60K (warmup)
-Snatch High Pulls (blocks) 5x3 70K focus on getting tall, used High Pull Indicator #17
-Split Jerks (rack) 6x2 80K (speed) need to work on overhead dynamic support strength
-Front squat 7x2 110K
-Shrugger unit 2x10 280lb.
-Core
