Bert Sorin just returned from Scotland, were he was Team Captain. Bert set two field records there, got second over all, but most importantly, the USA won!
Last weekend, Bert entered his last amateur competition of his highland games career, which was the World Am Championships, held in Minneapolis at the world's largest Renaissance Fest.
Bert was able to beat the best guys in the world, scoring an upset victory with a string of PR's.
At the end of the day he was crowned World Champion. Pretty cool. And you guys should see the sweet engraved sword the winner of this contest got. ;)
Bert will be turning Pro at Charleston Highland Fest September 15th 2007.
So congratulations to Bert Soring on capping off a great amateur career.
Good luck and have fun as a pro.
