I am going to compete in a few Olympic weightlifting meets this year.

Does anyone know where I can get a comprehensive list of competitions around the Kentucky area? Or maybe the North Carolina area?

I know there is usually a competition every year in Kill Devil Hills, NC. It's mostly high school students but if it's a USAW sanctioned open meet then anyone can attend. Be prepared to have the proper gear (shoes and singlet) and pay an entry fee to compete. The last time I competed it was $35 to compete and that was a while ago.

Stephen Powell would probably know more, but here's something we may be able to do: have an informal meet at Sorinex, if Bert allows us. I could come, I'm sure Stephen knows a few people, Bert probably knows some guys and I might be able to bring some of my track athletes. It's an idea I'd be up for.

There has been some talks about doing one, not quite sure when and if it would even be something we could / would wanna do but just an idea we have tossed around.

Now that would be an awesome idea!

You have my vote on that one. That would be a great time.

Rory;

Hope this helps you out in your quest for Oly competition.

Be warned, you have to be a USAW member before you can compete at a USAW sanctioned event and it usually costs to enter.

Maybe we can both show up at the same comp.

Thanks Roger,

I am looking at my schedule and its not looking good. There just aren't that many competitions around, and the most of them are quite a drive.

I will prevail though. I'll get to one this summer I hope.
