View Full Version : Soft-centred, still bleak...

Let me begin with the title 'Soft-centred, still bleak...' When trying to come up with a clever name for my new training log, I started playing with the words 'kettlebell and crossfit' since those are the two primary type of work-outs I'll be posting about. I found this cool anagram genius site and garbled the letters in 'kettlebell and crossfit' to come up with 'soft-centred, still bleak'. I was a little off-put at first thinking, 'man, let me garble some other words and see if they're fitting to their originals because if they are, then 'soft-centred, still bleak' is true to 'kettlebell and crossfit', and I need to switch up my training regimen IMMEDIATELY'! So, I garbled some other words and, sure enough, they didn't fit - so I'm safe...

For example:

Summer Ortegon is 'rumor gemstone' - LOVE that book, but no...
Joshua Ortegon is 'Oh no! A just ogre' - just he is, but definitely not an ogre
Athlete's Arena is 'alert sane hate' - who is Sane Hate?
Jeffrey Goergen is 'Jeer of ferny egg' - if anyone can jeer a ferny egg, it's Goergs!!
Bert Sorin is 'stern biro' - Bert is not a ballpoint pen
Richard Sorin is 'in horrid scar' - no comment (<3 you pops!)
Sorinex Exercise Equipment is 'exquisite norm experiences' - NORM???

So, we're safe, and here it is... Almost a month before my 30th birthday... Ayaiai!

On the books for today are 150 20# wall ball shots, which I'll do this afternoon at the Rx'd # for women of 14#. Looks like (from the board) people are doing this from anywhere between 5 and 22 mins, with a lot of 7 & 10's in there. These types of exercises get me b/c of my height, but I make up for it in exercises like burpees & squats b/c of my short legs - so I guess it evens out somehow. Wish me luck!

Welcome Summer! Good to have you here. I am sure some people here might want to ask you some nutritional advice too. ;)

Your title makes think of candy, then the bleak part makes me think it's my last piece :(

Thanks for the welcome, Rory & Bert! And, Roger Crazy Wolf, sorry about your last piece of candy! :p

Let me be the first (at least on this board) to say that nothing will start your day like a 5:30 AM CrossFit work-out!!

I wasn't able to do Karen (150 wall-balls) yesterday, so I made it up this morning along with Half-Cocked (one of Evil Elise's kettlebell work-outs).

Speaking of which, if any of you are into kb training, you MUST sign up for Elise's work-outs at http://swingclub.blogware.com/ - her work-outs will kick your tail!

We don't have any 14# mb's, so I had to do Karen with 16# :( It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be though... I finished in 7:08! Then Half-Cocked with a 15# kb in 26:59 with 1/4 mi runs in between (which my friend Greta & I refer to as our version of Lamaze - I challenge anyone to do this work-out without grunting and wheezing). Good work-out all-in-all!

I'm a bit concerned about getting my work-outs in over the weekend, though... Josh & I are going to Roanoke, VA to see his parents, and the local gym there is pretty traditional. Oh well, look at the bright-side: it makes me appreciate the awesome-ness of where I train (Sorinex ROCKS)! :D

Summer,

I did not know Josh's parent live in Roanoke. I have a gym in Roanoke you can train at. It is a key club and has a lot of Sorinex stuff. Let me know if you want to use it.

D~

PS which area in Roanoke does his parents live? South or North side?
