OK, I now have time to follow up on this. For the power testing, Here is what we thought was going to happen.

1. Bert would be better than me at the lighter D-Ball weights.
2. I would be better than Bert at the Heaviest D-Ball weights.
3. I would be better then Bert on the explosive bench press.

The surprise was #2. As it turns out absolute strength was less important than explosive power, even when it came to the 80lb and 100lb ball.

I think this taught us that people like me, who are powerful under a heavy load, (200lb+) do not have the proper type of strength to throw far.

This taught me that much of my power training needs to be even lighter. Focusing on speed over the weight lifted.

Bert is on the other side of the coin. Where he is explosive and could benefit more from gaining absolute strength.

These are my initial thoughts on the subject. I am sure there will be more information we can pull from this day.

Anyone else have input on this subject???

My input is that Bert would be better suited if he had a bigger set of wheels on him. My question is that when you guys are testing the heavier balls do you equate the fact that you are loosing a lot of positions just to hold the bigger ball? I know you guys did this to simulate "power" but if you aren't in the same position you are when you put the shot isn't the test a wash? I thin kits a cool and innovative way but my opinion is if you are going to take a true measure of power you would want to use the same positions. Am I making sense, or just arguing over semantics? I just feel like you are sacrificing technique, when in the end proper technique will get you the furthest...HEHE either way bert needs bigger chicken leggies. Another thought can we start a special thread for Georgens cooking? I think it would be interesting to see georgen in an apron and hat showing off his domestic skills
