Variation for Overhead Strength

by Jake Brooks

Right now Tuesdays are Vertical Pressing and pulling for me. Yesterday after Overhead Presses I decided to do some overhead lock outs, AWESOME for the Triceps.

Now, this is not a new exercise but I love variation and having people in the gym look at me funny so I decided to do them out of our Mini Rack while seated on the floor. With the bar at the crown of of the head, sit on the floor with your legs straight and toes curled back towards the knee, use a 14 inch grip and press, driving the head and chest forward at the top of the movement.

HOLY CRAP! Talk about stability issues in the hip flexors, abdominals, upper back and Triceps; They are all killing me today.

Proves once again that the smallest variation can sometimes have the largest impact.
